Russian Soviet painter Larisa Kirillova (nee Kotova) – Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1987), Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1988), member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists (before 1992 – the Leningrad branch of the Union artists of the RSFSR). Head teacher of the St. Petersburg State Academic Art Lyceum. Her works are in the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, in Art museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.

While studying at the institute, Kirillova visited the Ukrainian village of Chernoye, and the town of Kargopol, where she painted the rural women, saw their work, keenly felt their beauty, naturalness, respect for the land, the fruits of their own hands. Thesis “on the field” – the first result of visits to the village. Impressions were so strong that they have sufficed for many years. So there were canvas “Girls of the village ‘Chernoye”, “Weeding”, “Collective Farm woman”, “Summer”.

Larisa Nikolayevna Kirillova was born December 12, 1943 in Novosibirsk. In 1962 she entered the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin, workshop of VM Oreshnikov. In 1968 she graduated from the Institute with the qualification of painter. Diploma thesis – painting “On the field”.

In 1971-1974 she worked in the creative workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts under the direction of M. Oreshnikov. Since 1973 began teaching at the Art School, and in 1988 became the head teacher of the school (now – Lyceum of Arts of BV Ioganson). At the same time she worked creatively, mostly in the genre of portrait and thematic paintings.

Larisa Kirillova has participated in exhibitions since 1969. For creativity of Kirillova is characteristic appeal to the eternal themes of art – motherhood, family, beauty of contemporaries. Among the works created by LN Kirillova – the painting “The Saturday night” (1970), “Portrait of a milkmaid LA Tur” (1971), “Girl with a rake”, “Collective Farm Girls” (both 1973), “Self-portrait” (1974), “Portrait of DA Kurova”, “Weeding” (both 1976), “The Cherry”, “Young mother” (both 1977), “Haymaking. Rest “(1980), “Katya at the piano”(1981), “Girl at the Window”(1986), “Happiness” (1987), “Hay Harvest” (1989), “Portrait of the daughter Kate” (1994), “Art” (1996) and others.
